Who is Danitalia? I, Elisabeth Hjorth, started Danitalia in 1999. I was born in Denmark, but have lived in Lucca since 1991. After some years of helping friends and acquaintances find vacation homes, I came upon the idea of helping other Danes experience this unspoiled and less touristy part of Tuscany. My husband and I made the appropriate arrangements and started the Danitalia Bureau for Rental of Vacation Homes. Our market has expanded to all of Scandinavia. For our North American customers we have recently set up an affiliate, DanitaliaUSA staffed by Martha A. Aas, in Duluth MN. The philosophy remains the same. We select the houses as if we were selecting them for friends and acquaintances. Danitalia is duly registered at the Chamber of Commerce in Lucca with the registration N° HJRLBT69L50Z107K R.E.A. 182790. The tax number is 01929540464. DanitaliaUSA, LLC is registered in the State of Minnesota. Charter Number: 42068-LLC. Chapter formed under: 322B. We have signed contracts directly with the owners of the vacation homes (no intermediary) and we have a wide range of vacation homes of all sizes. Because we want to continue to provide personal service to our guests, in their mother tongue (this includes English), almost all of the houses are within the Lucca area. At the beginning of 2006, was created Moretuscany s.r.l., a new firm, which takes care of everything not directly related to rental, f.ex. wine tasting, transportation etc. Back Do you have a catalogue? Danitalia arranges rental of holiday homes in a new and more personal way. We ask you to tell us what kind of living arrangements you want, when your vacation is, how many you are etc, and we send you non-binding offers on homes that are available during the requested period and which best fulfill your requirements. The more you tell us about what you want, the easier it will be for us to find you the ideal house. We know the homes and their locations so if you have special wishes (child-friendly, disabled accessibility, in bicycle terrain etc) please let us know. If the first houses we offer are not exactly what you want, please write us for more offers.

or call 0039-0583-332066. When you have decided on the house you want, you reserve it by e-mailing or calling. Thereafter we will send you a confirmation by e-mail containing a rental contract. In the confirmation, you will also receive information about the down-payment you need to mail to Danitalia USA to guarantee the reservation. Back
What happens if I cancel? We refer you to our rental contract for our cancellation policy. We encourage you to buy cancellation insurance, which we offer. Back
When should I arrive at the house? The rental period usually goes from Saturday to Saturday, though you may be able to make other arrangements in the low season. Arrival time is between 3:00-5.00 PM. Departure time before 10:00 AM after checking out with the owner or his/her representative. Any desired changes should be agreed upon in writing. When you arrive at the house the owner or his/her representative will meet you, give you the keys and explain any particulars about the house. You will always be able to contact Elisabeth on her mobile phone if need be. Back Whom do I contact if I am late? If you know beforehand that you cannot arrive within the official arrival period, you will need to let us know in writing. Should you be delayed underway we ask that you call us so we can let the owner know. Elisabeth's phone number is on the driving directions to the house. All other useful information about the area will be sent to you 1 month before your arrival.
Back When and how do I receive the directions to the house and other info? The directions and information about concerts, restaurants, courses, factory sales, excursions etc will be e-mailed to you about 1 month before you arrive. You are welcome to contact us for any other information.

Are towels and bed linen included in the price? If nothing else is indicated in the description of the house, then bed linen and towels (NOT beach towels), utilities, and cleaning at departure are included. There will be no other obligatory expenses added to the price, but cooking classes, wine courses etc should be paid separately. Back
Is the house equipped for children? Do not assume that the house has a cot, high chair etc. Request them if you need them. Certain things are for rental through Moretuscany s.r.l.. Back Can I expect expenses over and above the price? Any extra expenses (f.ex. heating) will be indicated in the offer. There will be no other obligatory expenses added to the price, but cooking lessons, wine courses etc must be paid separately. On arrival, you will be asked to leave a deposit - paid in Euro currency - with the owner. The amount of the deposit will depend on the size of the rental house and you will have received information about it with the directions to the house. The deposit offsets any damage incurred to the inventory in the house, and it will be repaid on departure if the house is found in good condition. Back Can you arrange for rental of a car? We specialise in arranging holiday home rentals, but through Moretuscany srl we can arrange weekly car rentals. Back Can you take care of all travel arrangements? We specialise in arranging holiday home rentals and can likewise arrange for car rental. As far as flight arrangements we can offer you advice on which are the best connections, but you must arrange to buy your own ticket. If you wish to travel by train we can advise you of arrival and departure times, but once again, you are responsible for the purchase of the tickets at the train station. Back Is it possible to arrange excursions, wine tasting, etc. ? Certainly! Through Moretuscany srl we will be happy to arrange wine tasting, trips to the best known cities in Tuscany, guided trips on horse back, bike trips with an English-speaking guide, purchase of tickets for the Puccini Opera Festival, or to others of the many concerts in the area, they all sell out quickly.
